Remembering Punggol End

Remembering Punggol End

June 1, 2010  |  Blog

I was told not too long ago by some people on Clubsnap that Punggol End, where all the lalang fields are, is no longer accessible to outsiders. This pretty much means that in about five years’ time. The beautiful lalang fields will be completely gone.

I did not grow up in Punggol but i do have some vague childhood memories of myself playing there. It was not until early last year that i returned there to help a friend with his photoshoot.

Not wanting memories of this place to be erased by a bustling water town as promised by the Singapore government, i spent quite a bit of time last year frequenting this place and take as many photographs as possible. Most of them are shot with film.

One of these few days when i have free time, i shall go back and check out the place again. Been too busy to go back and check out the progress of construction there. I think the concrete tracks in the photo (3rd last) are laid and completed already. Sheesh.
