Hasselblad 60mm f/3.5 CF T*

February 16, 2011  |  Blog

Say hi to the latest addition to my family of Hasselblad – the 60mm f/3.5 CF T* from KEH.

However, the lens arrived with a pretty bad eye-sore…

On the front of the lens was a 5mm long scratch, right smack in the middle. While I admit that the lens was categorized as a ‘Bargain’ item on KEH, I sure as hell did not prepare for such a ‘bargain’.

The good thing is, I am no longer the equipment freak that I used to be back in 2007-2008. As long as the images turn out fine, I’m cool with the scratch.

I’ve sent an email to KEH asking for clarification. Hopefully they will get back to me pretty soon.

Here’s an image of the scratch. Ouch.

Now… can anyone tell me where can I buy a really really good cable release for the 501 CM? The last one i got, broke into pieces after a few weeks.

  1. I had a similar experience with KEH bargain grade lens. It had two areas on the rear element where the coating had somehow came off. I’ll never buy a “bargain” from them again.

While it may not effect images, thena gain under certain circumstances it may. I just don’t like to take such chances with my work.

Yours doesn’t look too bad. What did they say about it?

  2. They said I can choose to refund the lens whether or not the scratch affects the final image.

And I quote ‘We do not normally take test shots with lenses: we buy and sell thousands of lenses in the course of a year and our technicians have sufficient experience that they have a very good idea if a mark will cause a problem.’

  3. How much did you pay for the lens?
