Back from day one of the Salsa shoot

July 24, 2011  |  Blog

I may be tired but I am buzzing with excitement.

You don’t many chances to do a photoshoot with some of the best Latin dancers in Singapore, let alone doing it with a Hasselblad H4D-40 and the Profoto Pro-8 (10 flashes per second, anyone?).

A little background to this shoot:

I did a Salsa series with Sharon Pakir two years back and both of us loved the final products. Two years on, I got news that she was returning from Australia for some dance workshops and I told myself: “Hey, why not…”

One thing led to another and now a portfolio shoot with some of the best Latin dancers in Singapore is underway.

It will take forever to process my selected images but I will leave you with this portrait of Sharon Pakir.

It might be a little unfair to Gupson and Dawn but I must admit that this is my favourite shot of the entire lot.

Those who know Sharon well will know that this photograph pretty much tells you everything you have to know about Sharon as a dancer and to some extent her personality.

Part 2 of this shoot continues tomorrow. Let’s hope it turns out as good as today’s.
