After what was a crazy week at work, I finally had the time to head out with the Nex-7.

The camera was a sheer joy to use, largely because of the ease-of-handling of the camera. Every switch and button was within the reach of my right thumb and index finger and that really means a lot for me.

I’m not exactly street photography material but here are some snapshots taken over the weekend with the kit lens.

The above shot was a 20-second exposure taken during my usual walk around Punggol doing long exposure photography with the Big Boys Hasselblad and Mamiya.

I realize that, under low light conditions, the live-view (as well as the EVF live view) did not work properly. An exposure of 1 second and 20 seconds (same aperture and ISO settings) showed no difference in the live view. Not exactly a glitch and other digital cameras that I brought with me in the past also had the same issue.

The last shot below was taken by the girlfriend, who forgot to bring her Fuji X100 out for dinner and reluctantly used the Nex-7 and 30mm Macro for her foodshots :D

  1. the photos taken with Nex7 is not that fantastic for me.
at least the f3.5 stop won’t make big deal.
but the iso3200 seems fine in noise management
