It's been more than a year since I did my last dance shoot with the folks at Mosaic Dance. Therefore, with some leave days to clear, I decided to arrange yet another shoot with the crew.
Getting the technical details out of the way:
- Hasselblad H4D-40 with HC 55-110mm
- Lighting with several Profoto lights, including the Pro-8a and Acute B2 600w
This shot alone was worth all the effort that I put into the shoot, considering that I worked almost non-stop for 9 hours from setup to tear-down of equipment.

I finally had a proper vacation after months of slogging at work.
When I came back to Singapore, I got news that my dance project finally got published and featured on Profoto Lighting Blog. It is definitely an honor to be feature by the best lighting equipment company in the world.
Not too long back, I announced that I will be launching my own photography webstore. Things are going ahead as scheduled and I hope to officially live the website by the second half of the year.

I spent the whole of Wednesday afternoon with the folks at Cake Studios and helping the out with a test shoot.
The thing I really enjoy about my job is that I get to make friends with photographers all over Singapore and provide them with opportunities and resources to shoot more photographs.

This photo, its high-key look was what I had originally wanted to achieve for my personal body of work.
Towards the end of the shoot, I decided to try something different and switched off my lights than pointed the wall to get a more dramatic look.

So on a bright and sunny Wednesday morning, my colleague smashed a housefly right next to me. For some reason the fly (corpse?) was rather intact and there was a Hasselblad H4D-40 and a 120mm f/4 Macro lens lying around in office. This is the 100% crop. Hit the jump for the original composition.
